When someone we love
is approaching the end of life, they should be
allowed to die with peace and dignity. An
integral part of Cedar Crest’s mission is
the compassionate care of persons who are
terminally ill.
Cedar Crest provides palliative
and end-of-life hospice care through local
hospice providers. Our goal is to make this time
as comfortable and peaceful as possible for our
residents and their families.
Our hospice team
typically includes nurses, a social worker, home
health aides, clergy, and volunteers. Spiritual
and grief counseling is available, as are
extended visiting hours for families.
Cedar Crest was
recently honored for the
End-of-Life Care we provide for patients and
residents because of the staff’s demonstrated
ability and performance related to:
- Professional
team work with hospice provider
- Effective
continuing education
-
Compassionate assessment of patients and
residents
- Promoting
access to the hospice benefit
