Our Cedar Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre
is situated on an attractive 18-acre hilltop
site adjacent to the beautiful woodlands of the
Champlin Scout Reservation in Western Cranston.
Cedar Crest’s central location is convenient to
all major area hospitals, shopping, highways
(I-95 and 295), as well as T.F. Green Airport.
When touring Cedar Crest, you will notice the
attention to detail that creates both a
home-like environment for our long-term
residents and a welcoming, well-designed setting
for our short-term patients. Once inside, you’ll
see that Cedar Crest has just completed major
renovations including our Rotunda where
residents and patients enjoy restaurant-style
dining, as well as daily recreational
activities. The Rotunda, the hub of Cedar Crest,
has been greatly enhanced with new hardwood
laminate flooring, striking window treatments,
and dining service station. A state-of-the-art
media center for movie viewing and special
events (with flat screen TV, large drop-down
screen and built-in projector), and a charming,
mantled fireplace completes this wonderful
center of activity.
We have also created new bath “spa” environments
that are warm and home-like with elegant tile,
private dressing areas and warming lamps.
Throughout Cedar Crest, we have also added new
windows, window treatments, wallpaper, and a
new, efficient heating/cooling system.
If you look around the facility, you will also
see evidence of our new electronic documentation
system - freeing up hours of clinical time
formerly spent on paperwork that can now be
devoted to patient care. Nurses use
computers-on-wheels that they take to the
patient bedside during assessments for instant
documentation and access to medical records.
Nursing aides now input patient vital signs and
other information directly into wall-mounted
computers allowing all clinical staff access to
up-to-the-minute patient information.
Outdoors at Cedar Crest also reflects our
commitment to person-centered care - from our
Gazebo seating in our Generations neighborhood
for memory-impaired residents to our new Healing
Garden recently dedicated at our 40th
Anniversary Party. For the future, we envision
an expanded garden with handicap accessible
paths and seating areas so everyone can enjoy a
peaceful place to relax and contemplate the
beauty of nature.
